About Hatchwords

Hatchwords is a free naming tool for founders, makers and creators. Naming something is exciting and slightly terrifying — the right word can carry a whole brand, and a blank page rarely helps. We built Hatchwords to replace that blank page with a flood of good options you can actually use.

Today there are 66+ dedicated collections — from coffee shops and SaaS startups to podcasts, clothing brands and cleaning businesses — each with a generator tuned to that world, hand-picked example names, and practical naming tips. Everything runs instantly in your browser; nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.

How we keep it free

Hatchwords is supported by affiliate links. When you find a name you love and register its domain through Namecheap, or create a logo through one of our partners, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only ever point you to services we’d use ourselves, and our suggestions are never influenced by who pays a commission. That’s the whole business model: no paywalls, no sign-up, no selling your data.
